Players must mimic the on-screen dancer to a chosen song. For input, the game supports motion controller inputs like the PlayStation 4 Camera, PlayStation Move or Smartphone via the mobile app.  For people not owning PlayStation 4 Camera (Separate or with PlayStation Move), the Smartphone App ('Just Dance 2016-22 Controller' on the Play Store) would be only other option to play.

The game support various dance modes that include Dance Quests, Sweat (Workout and playlist mode), Beat the Boss, Tournaments and more.

The game features a tracklist of 200 plus songs.
