This is a AA quality black diamond with very good cut grade, finish and polish. Under a 10 x jewelers loupe there is no damage to any of the facets.
Black diamonds are extremely fashionable and one of the newest looks coming out of jewelry design today as they look great coupled with white diamonds, gold or platinum. Black diamonds have all of the properties of white diamonds but take 2-5 times longer to cut and polish.
The diamond is shiny jet black. Under certain lighting and angles you will see a few very small spots on the surface. This is normal for larger black diamonds and they are not distracting. It will make a stunning piece of Jewelry.
