Quality Chrome Diopside such as this comes from the frozen wastelands of Russia's eastern tundras. It is a high chrome content that creates its breathtaking color. Chrome Diopside is becomming less common and is now very collectable.
It arguably possesses the best green color in the gemstone kingdom. With intenser greens than tsavorites, cleaner than emeralds, Chrome Diopside's excellent value and breathtaking looks can make other green gemstones look dull.
This gem is classed as VVS1 and it is well cut and polished. Under a 10 x loupe there is no damage such as abrasion marks, chips etc to any of the facets. The gem is a brilliant chrome green throughout - like the highlight green in the picture throughout. The dark areas are just shadows captured by the camera. The actual gem is better than the picture.
