The gem is Flawless through and through - I have checked it with a 10 x loupe - no nasty hidden suprises with this stunner - no abrasion, no chips, flaws etc - just pure and perfect tourmaline.
The gem is 100% natural and untreated and the colour is classified on Gemological tables as rare. It has been master cut (long emerald) and the table/face has been checker board faceted to give the gem extra facets to reflect and refract light. It also give the gem extra luxury and class.
Tourmaline of this quality, colour and size commands a premium and I have appraised the gem for one line/web based shops at R4,000 - you would pay more at a retail jeweler.
My rating on this gem is collectors/investors quality.
