The colour is Rich Royal Purple and the gem has been master cut to ideal proportions. It gives the deep intense colour and magestic gleam that only larger gems can generally give. The Table (front facets) of the gem have been Checker-board cut - this allows more refraction and reflection of light and gives the gem a more luxurious and classy look.
Not only is it a large and beautifully faceted amethyst , but the it is absolutely flawless throughout. There are no chips or abrasion marks on the facet edges under a 10 x jewelers loupe.
