Hessonite is one of the gem varieties of Grossular garnet.
The other gem varieties of grossular are Tsavorite (Green) and Mali (Yellow, brown, lime green) and Grossularite Garnet. Hessonite is Cinnamon to Orange and has been called "cinnamon stone". Hessonite can be mistaken for Mandarin Garnet.
The gems are a brilliant Hot Cinnamon throughout and are MUCH better than the photo's have captured. Under 10 x magnification the gems are Master cut and polished. They are classed as Flawless to VVS1 (High Quality)
Although not classed on gemval as uncommon, Hessonite is not that often seen on the market. Gemval.com values these gems at R1,000 for on-line based shops (At least 40% More Retail!)
