Hessonite is one of the gem varieties of Grossular garnet.
The other gem varieties of grossular are Tsavorite (Green) and Mali (Yellow, brown, lime green) and Grossularite Garnet. Hessonite is Cinnamon to Orange and has been called "cinnamon stone". Hessonite can be mistaken for Mandarin Garnet.
The gem is a brilliant Hot Cinnamon throughout and is MUCH better than the photo's have captured. Under 10 x magnification the gem is Master cut/polished and classed as VVS2 (100% eye clean)
Hessonite is not that often seen on the market.
