Ruby is named for it's colour (Latin Rubeus), Ruby’s most important feature. Transparency is secondary. Pigeon Blood Red is the most desirable colour. In the old days this was tested against fresh pigeon blood. Fortunately for the pigeons, colour charts are used today!
This ruby is a natural ruby (not lab created) that has been heated and fracture filled as accepted in the trade to permanently enhance the colour & quality. The ruby is classed as SI1 and is well cut and polished no visible damage such as abrasion or chips under 10 x magnification.
