Each gem sold for over R300 comes with
Paraiba blue tourmaline has been classified in recent gem valuations as the SECOND MOST VALUABLE coloured gemstone on earth - and number one is NOT Tanzanite - it is Bixbite (Red Beryl - sometimes called Red Emerald ). So this gem out values/outprices Tanzanite on the market and Ruby and Emerald are way behind!
Paraiba Blue Tourmaline comes from Brazil and is a fairly recent discovery. It has become one of the most sought after gems amongst collectors and investors and commands $ thousands per carat on the market.
This is an absolutely stunning VVS (Very Very Small Inclusions - not at all visible to the naked eye) octogon scissors cut tourmaline which grades naturally from paraiba blue to paraiba green.
Under a 10 x loupe there is one VVS (very very small) nick in the pavilion (back facets) just close to the girdle. You will not see it with the naked eye and it does not detract in any way from the beauty of the gem. You cannot see it in the picture - I am telling you this so that professional collectors/investors out there know. Apart from this there are no abrasion marks visible along any of the facet edges even under magnification and the gem has been polished to professional perfection.
Please Note: To the eye when held in the hand, the actual colours are a little darker than the pictures and the gem sparkles with awesome blue and green flashes when it is turned in the light.
Classified as very rare on gemological tables, this gem is a Hi End collectors/investors item. The conservative WEB/Internet based shop price is R10,000 plus- you would pay more at a retail jeweler. You can check this out for yourself by going to an on-line web valuation site at gemval.com. Input the gem type, size, colour ( the second blue one down - notice that it is classed as VERY RARE), quality (VVS) , finish (excellent) and cut (octogon). Note that the figure given ($1,455) is a WEB based price and that the gem is valued at MORE than what I have appraised above.
STARTING ON JUST JEWELS AT THE LOW LOW PRICE OF R950 - NO RESERVE!!!
