NB: The diamond comes with a CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY from an independant GIA qualified gemmologist who has been a practicing as a manufacturing jeweller over 40 years. This certificate affirms that the gem is a genuine natural diamond with details as below. It gives no retail replacement value. Should the winner require a full valuation certificate, I can organise one for an additional cost of R200.
Black diamonds are amongst the hottest new fashion in jewerly design as they look great coupled with white diamonds or any of the coloured gemstones such as rubies, sapphires or emeralds. They also look stunning set in either gold or platinum. Black diamonds have all the properties of white diamond but take 2 - 5 times longer to cut.
Under a 10 x loupe the gem has a Brilliant Jet Black luster - better and more shiny black than the pictures have captured. The faces are clean with no visible damage to any of the facets. Please note that the gem is flat on the pavillion side (the back) as this diamond is meant for jewelry set on a flat base. Because this gem is 100% opaque jet black, the lack of pavillion facets makes no difference.
