A very beautiful bi-colour & colour change amethyst.
Bi-colour amethyst is not as common as Ametrine (A mix of purple Amethyst and Yellow Citrine). Over and above this, the amethyst half of the gem changes from Rich Royal Purple in normal daylight to Hot Magenta in normal house spot light or incandescent night lighting. This colour has not been captured by these pictures and is classed as rare in gemmological tables. It is hinted at in the small maroon/magenta highlight on the crown facet in the upper right hand picture. But this is a very small and pale representation of the actual colours of the gem in hand in night light. The actual gem and the colours are MUCH better!
