For those not used to buying sapphires on line, here are a few pointers.
Avoid Deep Blue Sapphires - usually they are so dark that you need intense light to see any trace of blue in the gem. Unless you want an all but opaque gem, don't waste your money!
Look out for colour banding in heated sapphire. Look carefully at the pictures. However, pictures can be taken that do not show this banding. If in doubt - ask the seller a question.
Poorly cut/poor quality sapphires have windows (pale patches) or dull spots. Again, pictures can be taken that do not show these. So if you are looking for a quality sapphire - ask a question first rather than spend good money on a dissapointing gem - and then have to fight for your money back.
This is a TOP quality Sapphire - no dull spots, no windows, no banding. Just a Sparkling Royal Blue Fire, day or night! It is MUCH better than the pictures.
Under 10 x magnification this Sapphire is well cut and polished. It is classed as VVS1(100% eye clean). With a loupe you will see no damage such as abrasion marks, chips etc to any of the facets. I can get an independant certificate of authenticity from a GIA qualified gemmologist for R100. A full valuation certificate will cost R200
