Yellow Flourite is not found commonly on the market.
The gem is classed as VVS1 (100% Eye Clean) with no facet damage under 10 x magnification.
Gem quality fluorite is generally scarce as most of the rough material is heavily included or banded. Despite being a relatively soft stone (4 to 5) , it is not easy for gem cutters to cut. It can be worn in protective settings.
The Concave Cut is a three dimensional conical shaped facet applied to the pavilion of the gem that creates depth as well as length and breadth. Instead of the facets being joined by a flat plain,they are joined with a groove. This creates depth as well as length and breadth. This allows the gem to refract more light, maximizing its brilliance. The Concave Cut also distributes light more evenly, giving the gem a stunning interior glow. Some gems increase up to 100% in brilliance when Concave Cut.
Concave Cut gems are gererally more expensive than traditionally cut gems because of:
1) Higher weight loss (i.e. you get less carat weight from the raw material)
2) The additional labour (It takes longer to facet concave cut than traditionally cut gems)
3) Market realities of supply/demand (Many people want concave gems & supply is limited)
