The Just Jinger story is a remarkable one and the release of a Just Jinger GREATEST HITS album comes as a fitting tribute to this landmark band which really did alter the status of South African rock music forever!

This long-awaited compilation gathers together a collection of the chart -topping and fan-favourite songs from Just Jinger's incredible career, which began in 1997, the year the group's debut album, ALL COMES ROUND was unleashed on the South African music scene.

At that time, few might have predicted that in the space of a year, the album would shift platinum, score no less than four Top 40 hits on 5FM (South Africa's largest national radio station) and earn the fledgling group the front cover of Billboard magazine. Today it remains a benchmark album for any rock band entering the scene, with songs like Shallow Waters and Father and Farther perennial radio favourites. It is also the recording that turned Just Jinger frontman, Art Matthews, and his bandmates - always drummer Brent Harris along with several different bass and guitar players (Tuks, Verny Scholtz, Denholm Harding and Dan Janse van Rensburg) - into bona fide stars, a status that has over the years earned them supporting slots for the likes of U2, Def Leppard, the Crash Test Dummies and Toto.

But the success of ALL COMES ROUND was just the beginning. SOMETHING FOR NOW (an ep released in 1998) spawned chart-topping tracks like Like You Madly and Paradise in Summertime and contained one of the few recorded cover versions the band have ever done a dazzling interpretation of Rodriguez' Sugarman.

1999's HERE'S TO YOU once more delivered the hits Those Days and Perfect Ground among them. And although the group's sound remained rock-anchored, the album also showcased Matthews' ability to pen more subtle, softer, ballad-like material. STRANGE DAYS (2000), recorded partly in London where the group has relocated, again revealed the group's ear for a hit song with stand-outs including the exceptional For All We Know, and the radio-friendly single, Your Song. The GREATEST HITS package also contains the previously unavailable new track Home which is presently on high rotation at radio.

Just Jinger's GREATEST HITS assembles the group's chart-topping, record - breaking, fan-making repertoire in one unforgettable album that's likely to outstrip the popularity of the recordings it's made up from.
