K&F Aluminium Light Stand
A super-light and compact aluminium light stand weighing in at less than a kilogram. Ideal for on the move and location work. It has reverse-folding legs which make its collapsed form very compact at 56cm. You can comfortably attach and carry it, using the external straps available on the range of K&F photography backpacks. This stand is designed for smaller and more compact lights, we recommend loads weighing no more than 2.5kg.
What makes this light-stand so unique is its use of reverse folding legs, like you find on compact travel tripods. They close up backwards to make the stand compact for transporting. They fold down with three selectable locking points which allow you to select your desired spread. The wider the spread selected the sturdier the stand is, the narrower the spread the higher your light can be. This is the same tried and tested mechanism found on K&F photographic tripods. This independent control per leg even enables you to set up the stand in areas where one leg needs to be at a different hight to another.
With the use of quick clips, the stands centre column can be raised and lowered very quickly. No need for having to turn multiple knobs to lock the stand. The adjustable rubber feet (not plastic caps) add extra stability and grip to the stand. Being rubber also helps the stand to regain stability faster if bumped. For additional stability there is a sandbag hook under the centre column of the stand. A little extra weight is a great way to add additional stability to the stand.
A standard male " thread on the top spigot is very handy for mounting any piece of gear or accessory with a threaded mounting point. A real handy tip is you can mount the K&F tripod ball-head (KF-28) onto the top of the stand and use the stand as a make-shift monopod, or a cheap way to mount a small second angle video camera.
