KALE CHOU MOULLIER -Brassica oleracea
Chou moullier is considered an heirloom OP (open polliated) cultivar.
A curly-leaved kale. This variety has leaves that are fairly flat, with just a bit of curl at the edges. Medium-green with fat stems that are tender, juicy and sweet. This kale can grow very, very large under ideal conditions reaching 1m.
This variety is a vegetable that typically grows as an Biennial, which is defined as a plant that matures and completes its lifecycle over the course of two years
Chou moullier Kale is normally fairly low maintenance and is normally quite easy to grow, as long as a level of basic care is provided throughout the year. Being aware of the basic soil, sun and water preferences will result in a happier and healthier plant.
Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to apply water fairly sparingly. Keep in mind when planting that Chou moullier is thought of as very hardy, so this plant will tend to survive through freezing conditions. Try to keep the pH of your soil between the range of 6.0 and 7.5 as Chou moullier likes to be in weakly acidic soil - weakly alkaline soil.
