Technically this is a Tachi. Worn blade down as to blade up for a Katana. Age is about 100 years. Sanmai forge welded or folded steel blade with at least 8000 layers. Very finely laminated with awesome patterns. The blade is in a murky polish with the martensite crystals very clear. It is a heavy sword and a bit (3cm) longer than a Katana. The Saya has metal Hawk Feather inlays. The fittings are excellent quality. The Tsuka has Shark skin in stead of Ray skin and is wrapped in real cotton Itoh.
