Kaufmann Weld On Gate Lock

PRODUCT INFORMATION This lock is manufactured for use on security gates and doors. It is most suited for single steel swinging doors but can be adapted to be used on wooden doors by welding metal lugs onto the lock casing. To install the lock, the case of the lock will need to be welded into or onto steel security gates or doors. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS - Unscrew and remove the inner mechanism from the case of the lock. - Place the lock casing to the position it is required then weld the casing onto or into the gate or door. - Once it is welded, paint the gate or the door. - Replace the inner mechanism of the lock into the casing by first lubricating it, and then tighten the screw securely so that the lock has smooth operation. - Next step is to install the gate and frame or the catch plate to its intended position. - Check that the gate or door works correctly. - With the door or gate closed, use a hammer to tap the steel push pin to mark a position where a hole has to be drilled for the locking pin to locate. - Use a minimum of a 14mm drill bit to drill a hole into the frame which had been marked and then test to see if the pin locates and operates securely. - If required, the inner plate can be tack welded to the lock case body to avoid any tampering of the lock and for added security.
