This auction item is a RHODOLITE, being a member of th garnet family. 

My other auction ending at same time is for a RHODONITE, which is a completely different gem-type altogether. RHODONITE is an extremely scarce gem-type, very similar in colour to the top grade carmine Tunduru Rubies.
