The South African cricketer Kepler Wessels began playing for Sussex at the age of 18, and Tony Greig invited him to join the Kerry Packer World Series. He moved to Australia to play for Queensland, and in 1982 played for Australia against England. He returned to South Africa in 1988 and became his country's captain in 1991.
