As a young boy I used to dream of having something, anything to do with Superman, The idea of something hand signed by him was hardly an option then. Now years later after the advent of the internet, with loads of patience and tons of research, I have finally, some 30 years later I have put together an incredible collection of almost every Superman there has ever been.
In the process I learned things about the history of Superman, the making of the movies and the men that had the honour to portray him over the years. What started as one autograph grew to soon fill the wall and now many walls of my home are graced by the personally signed pictures of Supermen, their Co-Stars and let us not forget, the Villains.
Collecting however was not as straight forward as I had hoped, from the get go there were people selling copies of originals and using tricky phrases to hide the fact that they were only copies, others sold the real thing but at seriously inflated prices. After what seemed an age, I finally got to know some trustworthy dealers and fellow collectors in America, the UK and Canada, all with the mind set of "this is history and deserves to be affordable and shared with true fans", over time my database of trustworthy dealers, collectors and autograph hounds has grown, enabling me to source the "real deal" at market related prices and making them available to the dedicated fans here in South Africa.
The next hurdle, was customs charges and the inevitable wait as my autograph jumped from one post office to the next and then finally, will it arrive in good condition, I mean how many post offices actually treat your beloved items with the proper care they actually deserve.
