King George III DOUBLE Cartwheel Penny of 1797 in Extremely Fine condition

This is NOT the normal Cartwheel Penny but the DOUBLE Cartwheel (Two Pence) weighing a very hefty 2 ounces.

It has some small marks in the fields, but is overall in extremely fine condition and catalogues at £325 (R5500+) - see Spink number 3776.

This huge coin (see comparison to a normal Cartwheel Penny in first picture) is a one year only coin (1797) and a must for collectors of type coins that circulated in South Africa in our early colonial days.
