Kiwifruit or Chinese gooseberry is the edible berry of several species of woody vines in the genus Actinidia. The most common cultivar group of kiwifruit is oval, about the size of a large hen's egg: 58 centimetres in length and 4.55.5 cm in diameter.

In general, both types require two plants,a male and a female, for pollination. Both plants produce flowers, but only the female will produce fruit. To insure fruit production, plant a male and a female of the same species. There are self fertile varieties of each species which yield smaller fruits.

SOWING
Sow seeds in well-draining seed-starting mix. Lightly cover with soil (about 23 mm). Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.

TRANSPLANTING
Once seedlings have 23 true leaves, transplant into larger pots or directly into the ground in a sunny, sheltered location.
LIGHT REQUIREMENTS
Full sun is ideal for healthy growth and fruit production.
WATERING
Water regularly to keep soil evenly moist. Avoid overwatering.
SUPPORT
Kiwifruit is a climbing vineprovide a trellis, fence, or support structure.
SPACING
