THE LARGER CONTAINER IS HAS TABAK EMBOSSED ON THE SIDE AND THE SMALLER ONE SAYS SIGAREN. MARKINGS: UNDER-BASE OF THE STAND STAMPED "MADE IN HOLLAND DAALDEROP IN A TRIANGLE AND IN THE CENTRE IS A CIRCLE THAT HAS TIEL AT THE TOP AND HOLLAND AT THE BOTTOM, AND WITHIN AN INNER CIRCLE IS CROWN OVER CROSSED WITH LETTERS KDM (KONINKLIJKE METAALWARENFABRIEKEN DAALDEROP). FROM THE DUTCH MANUFACTURER TIEL KMD, ROYAL DAALDEROP (J. N. KMD History: KMD is for Royal Metal Industry (formerly J.N. Daalderop & Sons), Tiel, Holland. Founded in 1898, the company is also known as Royal Holland Pewter. The company manufactured household items in the style of the new art, a tight variant of Art Nouveau. The Chief Designer was Meine Hampson and the company featured dinnerware, serving pieces, trays, boilers (such as samovars), and petroleum and gas lamps. The company grew and products were exported. In 1914, it counted 359 employees. KMD operated up to the beginning of the second world war.
