Kniphofia (Tritoma, Red hot poker, Torch lily, Poker plant) is a genus of plants in the family Xanthorrhoeaceae, subfamily Asphodeloideae, that includes 70 or more species native to Africa. This gives names such as "torch" and "red hot poker" to many of them.

Growing up to 50cm, curved pale yellow to green leaves with toothed margins are a feature of the drepanophylla variety. Sow in spring and expect stunning beautiful greenish yellow flowers with red tinges.
