Kniphofia fluviatilis Seeds Indigenous South African Endemic Perennial Bulb Seeds from Africa

Kniphofia (Red hot poker, Torch lily, Poker plant) is a genus of plants in the family Asphodelaceae that includes 70 or more species native to Africa. Some species have been commercially used for horticultural use and are commonly known for their bright, rocket-shaped flowers. These plants produce spikes of brightly-colored, hanging, red-to-orange flowers. This gives names such as "torch" and "red hot poker" to many of them. Kniphofia fluviatilis is a South African endemic species from the Eastern Cape, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga Provinces. Commonly known as River Poker it is usually found growing on mountain stream banks. It grows to 70cm tall with erect blue-green leaves and forms groups or colonies. From spring to summer it bears an inflorescence of hanging flower buds in dark to orange-red.
