Kniphofia (Tritoma, Red hot poker, Torch lily, Poker plant) is a genus of plants in the family Xanthorrhoeaceae. This gives names such as "torch" and "red hot poker" to many of them. The flowers produce copious nectar while blooming and may attract sap-suckers such as hummingbirds and New World orioles.

Sown is spring, expect stunning 1.5m plants bearing striking red flowers which turn to yellow with age. Flowers summer to autumn and is commonly known as the "red hot poker". A highly attractive species.
