KONOS H.O.W. Workshop
KONOS History of the World Vol. I The Ancient World. Consists of:
KONOS HOW is best suited to young adults from approx. 14 years and up. A mature young adult with good self discipline and motivation would gain tremendous value from HOW. We suggest not to introduce it before they are ready.
The ancient world from Abraham coming out of Ur to pre-Rome, which covers the Etruscans and Celts. Within its scope is history, English, art and Bible for one year, also covering the how and why to study history. Mesopotamians, Egyptians, Hebrews, Greeks, Assyrians, Phoenicians and the foundations of Rome are covered. Your student will explore and examine literature such as; The Bible, The Iliad, The Odyssey, The works of Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, Greek mythology, plays and more.
KONOS History of the World for senior students, presents the same approach of unit studies, and the use of real books, that you have become familiar with from Junior KONOS. It's known for its hands-on activities so there are plenty of them here, even for higher grade learners!
Every individual is different in their learning abilities but we have found that maturity is as important as learning ability for KONOS HOW to benefit the student and the parents to its fullest value. If a student is too young when starting with KONOS HOW, then a lot more parental involvement is necessary. This defeats the opportunity which HOW offers its students to learn to be independent - with the support of their parents as mentors.
This is of greatest value when the student has reached the maturity to approach and apply these skills without needing the parent to do it for them.

The KONOS HOW Parent Guide guides parents in meaningful dialogue/discussion. Moms and dads easily learn to teach from the heart. The KONOS HOW Parent Guide helps the parent to mentor their young adult student through the transition from being taught, to self study, and yet at the same time involving the parent in shared learning and opportunities for mentoring. Important life lesson topics are covered as the Parent Guide presents topics of discussion for parents to be involved in, as their young adults study and mature into adult life.
