Korean Traditional Handmade Lacquer/Mother-of-Pearl Inlay Trinket Box

Beautifully traditional handcrafted Korean trinket/jewellery box, measuring 17.5 x 9 x 9 cm. Made of wood, it is inlaid with mother-of-pearl or abelone shell motifs, including geometric borders, storks, deer, and flowers.
It is hinged so that when opened four small drawers, each lined with floral-embroidered cloth, are exposed. The two halves of the box are kept closed with a butterfly clasp.

This art-form is called 'chilgi' in Korea. I purchased this delightful item new from an upmarket handcraft shop in Korea about fifteen years ago.

I notice that one of the tiny feet is lacking (see the last image) - but the box still sits firmly on a flat surface. In very good condition.
