This is a very rare dainty little cup and saucer is in very good condition, there are no chips or cracks.

There is slight ware on the gold gilding.

I would estimate this item to have been produced during the early part of the 1920’s as Leonard Bernardaud ran the Limoges France Company between 1900 and 1923.

This item has been discovered in the roof cavity of an old house in Cape Town. Some of the items have not seen the light of day for over 120 years, their crisp clarity of colour and perfect gilding attest to the fact that they have almost certainly never been used.
