Application:
This is the common L298N Motor Driver, designed for driving a 2 DC Motors for Robot Cars or a single Stepper motor.
It uses ST's L298N chip as the main driver which is a well known chip in the industry for motor drivers.
The breakout board itself has a built in 78M05 voltage regulator as well as filter capacitors and diode protection to stop back EMF when the car or robot is freewheeling.

Specifications:
Driver Type: Dual H-bridge.
Master chip: L298N
Logic voltage: 5V
Driving voltage: 5V-35V
Logic Current: 0mA-36mA
Drive current: 2A (MAX single bridge)
Storage temperature: -20 to + 135
Maximum power: 25W
Weight: 30g
Size: 43 x 43 x 27mm

Please remember if you're driving with voltage higher than 12V to please always use 5V Logic.

When using the driver to drive stepper motors - It can be done in the following way:
Pin EN can be used as a PWM to control the steps
Pin IN1 and IN2 can be used for controller the stepper direction.

Common pinouts for Robot Cars with 2 DC Motors can be done in this manner:
