Possibly our favourite gemstone, Labradorite has flashes of colour that vary so much from stone to stone that each piece is truly special and one-of-a-kind. We call every stone our favourite but looking at the beautiful rainbows that these stone displays it is definitely up there.

A member of the Feldspar group, Labradorite has a dark base colour with iridescence that ranges from gold-orange to blue-green.  Move it around in the light and you see a different pattern every time.  Labradorite shows a unique glimmer (Schiller effect) that is called labradorescence. It is caused by internal fractures that reflect light back and forth, dispersing it into different colours.  Labradorite was first identified at Paul Island, Labrador, Canada, by Moravian missionaries in 1770, deriving its name from this locality.

Labradorite is a stone of transformation and is a useful companion through change, imparting strength and perseverance.   It is an excellent stone for strengthening intuition and promoting psychic abilities.  Labradorite gets rid of fears and insecurities, and strengthens faith in yourself and trust in the universe.

The photos are taken in light studio but best efforts are made to reflect the true colour of the stones but there may be some variation in natural light.

The piece in the image is the one that you will receive.
