This volume of selected paintings by native Georgian Lamar Dodd was published to accompany a retrospective exhibition in 1970. Mainly works in oil, the ninety-three plates in this catalogue range from the representational to the abstract, and chart Dodds powerful vision from 1929 to 1969. Eighteen paintings are reproduced in full colour.

The catalogue also includes basic curatorial information on the paintings, a chronology of Dodds life and career through 1970, and a selection of critical commentary on his work.

LAMAR DODD (1909-1996) was the most recognized artist of his generation from the state of Georgia. The school of art at the University of Georgia is named after him.
