The painting in its frame measures 65 cm x 49 cm. The measurement of the painting without the frame is 49cm x 33 cm.

The frame is still in a good condition with minor scuffmarks, mostly on the right bottom corner.

The brown paper backing of the artwork shows some tiny holes but for most is still in a reasonable condition.

Pierre Francois de Villiers (1921 – 2007) was born in 1921 in Cape Town, South Africa. He was a painter of landscapes, flowers, seascapes and wildlife and worked in oils and acrylic. In 1930 he studied privately under Maggie Laubser in Cape Town and his work is sought after in South Africa and abroad.
