 DELIGHTFUL LATE VICTORIAN GERMAN BISQUE FIGURINE OF A SHEPHERDESS HOLDING A NEWLY BORN LAMB, SHE IS LEANING AGAINST A FENCE THAT HAS A COLOURFUL MORNING GLORY FLOWERING PLANT TRAILING UP A FENCE POST. THE DETAIL TO THIS GERMAN MADE FIGURINE IS INCREDIBLE. THE GERMAN STAMP MARK BELONGS TO UNGER, SCHNEIDER & Co. CARL SCHNEIDER (WHO HAD WORKED AT THE WELLENDORF FACTORY) TOGETHER WITH MODELING ARTIST KARL UNGER AND BUSINESSMAN HERMAN HUTSCHENREUTHER FOUNDED THE BUSINESS IN 1859. THE "G" MARK WITH THE DOUBLE HEADED ARROW WAS USED FROM 1875 ONWARDS. HEIGHT 37.5cm, WEIGHT 1.292kg. CONDITION.....MINOR GOLD LOSS HER AND THERE, A FEW TINY NIBBLES TO THE BACK OF THE BASE. BARELY VISABLE.....

ENLARGED BLACK COAL MARKS SHOWN BELOW ARE THE PRODUCT OF FIRING CERAMICS IN A COAL HEATED KILN USED BEFORE GAS AND ELECTRIC KILNS,
