Large brass WW1 1916 3-inch 13-Pounder field gun artillery shell

This is the shell from a 13 Pounder field gun, manufactured in 1916, with the contact pin (centre part) made in 1915. It is in good condition, with an indent in the metal near the top (next to my thumb on the picture). The headstamps indicate the following (where known):

  • 13 PR II - 13 Pounder field gun, mark II
  • CF - Cordite full charge
  • BSF US - Bethlehem Steel Company USA
  • 11/15 - Manufactured November 2015 (contact pin)
  • Lot 2302 - Lot #
  • 12 8 1916 - Date the shell was filled

Dimensions: 76.2mm (3 inches) wide at top x 313mm high
