Large carnival glass bowl in Flora Gold/Louisa pattern

Flora Gold/Louisa pattern large carnival glass bowl made by Jeanette Glass Company, Jeanette, Pennsylvania. Marigold colour, no chips, very little evidence of use; diameter 29 cm. The Jeanette Glass factory was opened in 1887 in order to make simple bottles and other useful items.  In the 1920's American women wanted affordable items that were more decorative in their homes and these items became popular because they were seen as being more of a luxury item even though they were inexpensive or came free with grocery purchases or fuel purchases.
