Offered for sale is a large porcelain vase made by the West German company AK Kaiser dating to the 1970's. The vase is decorated in a vibrant floral pattern called 'Lady ' resembling clematis or marigold flowers with five petals and foliage. The vase has a tall cylindrical shape with a slightly flared rim and round base. The interior of the vase is white contrasting with a vibrant brick red /orange exterior and a floral motif in shades in sienna , pink brick red with gilt . The decor is a combination of transfer printing and hand painted gilt accents . The base has the crowned AK Kaiser mark the pattern name and the initials BR possibly the initials of the designer. Kaiser porcelain has a long history dating back to the late 19th century. The company was founded in 1872 by August Alboth and was subsequently renamed when the founders son took over the running of the company in 1928 with a business partner /brother in law (Willi Alboth and George Kaiser) hence the AK Kaiser name. In the 1970's the principal designer was K Nossek who designed tableware/flatware and vases.
