Beautiful Natural Inclusions

A particularly beautiful natural earth-mined Prehnite gemstone. Prehnite is a rather special gemstone, mined in South Africa. Its discovery dates back to the 18th century and was named after the person to find it - Dutch mineralogist Colonel Hendrik Von Prehn. The stone comes in several hues, but the green variety, which is often confused with jade, is the most popular with jewellers. This piece has the classic fire iridescence associated with the stone, and also presents some particularly interesting natural inclusions. The gemstone has been claw-set into heavy and solid sterling silver, on a horizontal setting that stradles the finger. It measures 3 x 2 cm (30 x 20 mm). The structure of the ring is solid polished sterling silver. It weighs 16,5 grams and is ring size 7.75 (P/half in Britsh and SA sizing.)
