Large Oleby Keramik Swedish Studio Stoneware Vase.
A significant and highly tactile piece of Swedish studio pottery, this large stoneware cylinder vase features a distinctive deep-cobalt blue and earthy brown sgraffito floral design synonymous with the Oleby studio style of the 1990s. The hand-carved floral and geometric patterns exhibit a "Brutalist" influence, making it a powerful statement piece for Mid-Century Modern or Scandinavian-inspired interiors.
Primary Uses: Floor or tabletop centrepiece; high-stability vessel for large floral arrangements.
Alternate Suggested Use: Because it is so heavy, I think this may also serve as an umbrella or walking stick stand.
Made by Oleby Keramik (Sweden), 1992.
Visible Flaws: Good vintage condition. Note: Minor "fleabite" chips on the unglazed base ring (see photos), typical of age and move-wear. No cracks or chips to the glazed body or rim.
