LARGE SLATTED TABLE WITH SIX CHAIRS ~ RETRO ~ LATE 1960s ~ GOOD CONDITION
This is a large slatted table with six chairs. The table top curves outwards in the middle and at each end, giving it an interesting unusual shape. It is supported on a sturdy metal frame. I think the wood may be kiaat, but I’m not an expert, so it’s a guess based on the fact that the wood is very good quality and is stronger and more solid than pine.
There are six chairs. They have slatted seats, slightly curved for comfort and curved slatted back rests. The frames of the chairs are solid strong metal. The wood has some water mark stains and surface scratches, but these could be removed. Otherwise the wood is still in its good original shape and condition.
This set is ideally suited to a kitchen or casual eating arrangement. It is exceptionally robust and has stood the test of time. This set has many years of life left in it. The set has been in the family for around forty years and is as strong as the day it was made. I have never seen another slatted set like this.
The starting price is low, R50 and there is no reserve. We are down-sizing so with regret, it has to go.
