Large Solid Silver Antique Cigar Box (1909)
This large, lovely quality, sterling silver cigar or cigarette box from the early 1900's was made in 1909 in London by well-known silversmiths 'William Comyns & Sons' (W.C). The box is square shaped with a domed hinged lid and has a wooden lined interior. There's a faint engraving on the lid that reads 'College of Agriculture, Holmes Chapel, 1901 - 10, H. Thompson, from the Staff, Nov.1910'. Other than very minor wear and tear from years of use, the silver box is in great condition. It measures 18,5cm x 15cm, stands 8,5cm and weighs 840g.
