Large vintage wooden Scarborough fishing reel. I think this reel would have been for deep sea shark fishing - the fastening mechanism seems as though it would be bolted onto something. The reel is very large with the spool being 19cm in diameter, and it is 33cm in length with the fastening mechanism. I would estimate that the reel is from the 1920/30s. It is in fair condition for its age - missing one handle, an spool is a bit loose (some sliding). Would make a lovely feature in a fishing themed space - restaurant or mancave.
