LARIZA VAN EMMENIS

On offer this exquisite and very valuable painting of a "Treed Leopard" by well known South African artist, Lariza van Emmenis, signed and dated (2004) in the bottom right corner. This is a large painting measuring 110x80cm (with frame) and 90x60cm (painting only). It is framed in a beautiful dark wooden frame with gilded detail and a white mounting frame, really something special with no expenses spared in the framing. In good condition apart from a few minor chafing spots on the gilded part of frame. The realistic portrayal of this beautiful animal, the vibrant colours, together with this quality frame, makes for a really stunning piece of art. The proportion between painting and frame is perfect.

Lariza van Emmenis (born in 1977), had a lively interest in art since early childhood. After she matriculated, she began a full-time career in art, following in the footsteps of her mother and mentor, well-known artist Paula van Emmenis (inter alia commissioned by Nelson Mandela for a portrait painting). She works mainly in oils and acrylic, on canvas. The wide variety of South African fauna and flora serves as her main source of inspiration. Her favourite wildlife theme is the beautiful big cats of Africa, especially the lion, leopard and cheetah. Lariza enjoys portraying her subjects in realistic colors, with attention to depth and detail.

Apart from private collections, Lariza’s work can be found in corporate collections of various institutions and embassies, and she has exported many of her paintings to the USA, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. Her art are permanently on show in numerous South African galleries.
