📝Lasing Nang Talung is a fascinating fusion of traditional Thai shadow puppetry and modern laser art. It was created by Mike Gould, a laser artist, and showcased at the Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison, Wisconsin, as part of the GLEAM: Art in a New Light exhibit.
This installation reimagines Nang Talung, a traditional Southern Thai shadow puppet theater, by replacing the usual fire or spotlight with laser lumiaa futuristic light technique. The goal was to blend past and future, tradition and technology, while engaging the local Thai community in a fresh, interactive way.
