SMC’s EZ Hub 10/100 dual-speed hubs offer a simple, yet cost-effective, strategy for the smooth integration of Fast Ethernet into an Ethernet network, while preserving your existing investment and laying the foundation for future networking requirements. These dual-speed hubs combine the functionality of a standalone Ethernet hub and a standalone Fast Ethernet hub with a built-in switch. Each port can be connected to either a 10BASE-T or 100BASE-TX device. The port automatically senses the speed of the attached device and directs the traffic to the appropriate segment, and the internal switch supports communications between the 10 and 100 Mbps segments. What’s more, the hubs are cascadable, so you can grow your network by cascading another Class II hub to any one of the front-panel ports.
