About the Author:
Ellison Kahn (19212011) was Professor of Law at the University of the Witwatersrand, where he taught from 1948 and served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor from 1972 to 1981. A Senior Counsel of the Republic and Barrister of the Middle Temple, London, he was among South Africas most respected jurists and editors. His work bridged academic law and the human stories that enliven it.
