A superb modern variety, Lazio is quick-growing, maturing approximately 8 to 10 weeks from sowing. Resistant to downy mildew and slow to bolt with succulent, smooth, dark green leaves which makes it ideal for ‘baby’ leaf production or use as regular spinach. Pick individual baby leaves as required to encourage new growth, up to 3 to 4 cuts per plant. Mature plants may be harvested after August. Baby leaf spinach plants can be grown indoors or with protection. It is easy to stagger your crop all year round, for a continuous supply of tasty and nutritious baby leaves.
