Many of you will have heard of, or read some of the "Rich Dad Poor Dad" books written by Robert Kiyosaki. My husband bought me the book "Rich Woman" for my 50th birthday, which is written by Kim Kiyosaki, Robert's wife. I read it avidly, and it really made sense to me. We are being told from every angle that pension funds are very unlikely to be able to pay out the funds we have saved and will need for our retirement when we reach retirement age. This is because retired people nowadays are living longer and longer due to improved health care. Therefore, the way to go is to start making some passive income, whereby you have to work hard for a short while, and then afterwards sit back and allow the money to flow into your bank account!
We have a board game at home called "Cashflow for Kids" which was created by Robert Kiyosaki to teach children (and adults) about passive income. The aim of the game is to buy assets like real estate, which generate a passive income. Once your passive income overtakes your monthly expenses, you get a badge, and win the game!
