This is a left leg prosthesis with a transfemoral sock.

The prosthetic sock fits over the remaining stump and is then lowered into the socket that must distribute the forces through the residual limb.  The more intimate the socket the better the function and comfort of the prosthesis.The prosthetic knee joint is selected based numerous factors including:

• muscular strength
• mechanical stability of the knee joint
• weight of the component
• cosmesis
• range of motion

The knee joint is controlled by hip motion, and is influenced by:

• the length of residual limb
• strength of the residual limb.

This is a secondhand left leg prosthesis which was only used for a month as result of the passing of the owner.
